Throughout my life, my dogs and horses have been my best friends and confidants. They listened to my secrets, hugged me when I cried, and taught me valuable life lessons like it's okay to be afraid, but it's not okay to quit, always be open to adventure, and kindness goes a long way.
Mine is just one story. Through life's ups and downs, dogs love us unconditionally, asking for nothing more in return than for us to love them and keep them healthy and safe. This seems easy, but unfortunately, it is really, really hard! What does healthy look like for my dog? What weight should he be, how much exercise is best, how do I keep her skin and fur healthy and smelling good, what should I feed him? Does her breed have a propensity for diseases or disorders that could affect the quality and longevity of our life together?
I've struggled to find answers to all of these questions - and more - as a pet parent. I know I'm not alone. There is a lack of products and information available through both the commercial and veterinary markets to make caring for my dog easy, approachable, and make me feel like their overall well-being is being supported. After spending too much time searching the depths of the internet, waiting for a recommendation from local experts that never came, I decided to create what I was looking for; Houndstooth exists to make life easier for you, so you can get back to doing the things you love with your dog.
I'm excited to welcome you to the Houndstooth family and look forward to getting to know your family. I'd love to hear from you...I need your help in understanding what your family needs and wants. After all, pets and people, we truly are better together.
